Collect for the Sunday after Ascension

O God, the king of glory,
who hast exalted thine only son Jesus Christ
with great triumph into heav’n:
we beseech thee, leave us not comfortless;
but send to us thine Holy Ghost to comfort us
and exalt us unto the same place
where our saviour Christ is gone before us.
Amen

Traduzione

O Dio, re della gloria,
che hai innalzato il tuo unico figlio Gesù Cristo
con gran trionfo nei cieli:
ti supplichiamo: non lasciarci senza conforto;
ma mandaci il tuo Spirito Santo a confortarci
e innalzarci nello stesso luogo
dove il nostro salvatore Cristo è andato prima di noi.
